SAN ANTONIO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Apr. 26, 2016--
NuStar Energy L.P. (NYSE: NS) announced today that it ranked No. 9 on
the “50 Best Workplaces for Giving Back” list, according to global
research and consulting firm Great Place to Work® and Fortune
Magazine.
NuStar is the second highest publicly traded company on the list, as
well as the only company headquartered in San Antonio and the only
energy company on the list. This recognition comes on the heels of
NuStar recently being ranked No. 19 on the “100 Best Companies to Work
For” list by Great Place to Work® and Fortune.
“We are fortunate to benefit from the special caring and sharing culture
created by our Chairman of the Board Bill Greehey,” said NuStar
President and CEO Brad Barron. “As he always says, you are not a success
in life until you share your success with others. Our employees take
those words to heart as last year they not only helped us achieve the
highest EBITDA and distributable cash flow in our history, but also
donated a record amount of time and money to worthy causes in our
communities.”
Great Place to Work® analyzed surveys from nearly 600 companies to rank
those that best create a sense of purpose and meaning among their
employees through involvement in the community. Not only do these
workplaces stand out for their generosity, their team members also
express a great deal of pride in what their organizations accomplish.
The Best Workplaces for Giving Back took into consideration feedback
from about 240,000 employees in a diverse range of industries, as well
as their companies' volunteer programs and charitable giving relative to
revenue.
“The Best Workplaces for Giving Back demonstrate more than just a
commitment to charity,” said Kim Peters, executive vice president at
Great Place to Work®. “These organizations have earned employees'
admiration by involving staffers in their community service efforts and
contributing resources in ways that genuinely reflect their unique
cultures.”
NuStar and the other winning companies were selected based on responses
to the Trust Index©, Great Place to Work’s employee
assessment survey. Employees rated their sense that they make a
difference in their jobs, the meaningfulness of their work, and the
impact they feel their organizations make in the community. The list
also took into account company programs and an analysis of anonymous
employee comments about their workplaces.
The Best Workplaces for Giving Back is one of a series of rankings by
Great Place to Work® and Fortune based upon employee
survey feedback from Great Place to Work®-certified
organizations.
